BASES REGULATING THE SELECTION OF THEATER TEXTS OF THE
AND MICRO THEATER FARM CONTEST:
OBJECT
These bases have as objective to regulate the selection of the theatrical scripts of the short pieces that will be collected in a volume of the Col·lecció farce of dramaturgy of the seal EDICIONS AÏLLADES.
THEME / TARGETS
This event aims to promote the creation of stage texts between playwrights and playwrights both novices and professionals in the field of the Catalan Countries.
EVALUATION CRITERIA
The evaluation criteria of the jury when selecting the participating projects of the I fARSA contest of micro-theater texts are the following:
- The theatrical script will revolve around themes related to fruits and vegetables. With this proposal we adhere to the commemoration of the resolution of the UN General Assembly designating the year 2021 as the International Year of Fruits and Vegetables.
- The works must be written in Catalan, they must be original and may not have been submitted in the context of any other competition.
- The pieces must be able to be performed in small format by a maximum of three actors and will last no longer than 15 minuts.
- Each author will be able to participate with a text.
- In case two works are tied, the jury will especially value the presence of female characters in the works.
RECIPIENTS OF THE CALL
Both playwrights and playwrights older than 16 years beginning in the sector as those participants who have a professional career in the theater circuit.
Awards
The texts of the selected playwrights will be awarded with the publication in the Col·lecció farce of dramaturgy of the seal EDICIONS AÏLLADES. In addition the best work will have an economic endowment of 300 € (amount subject to taxes or withholdings in force by law).
The jury may select a maximum of thirteen works.
ADMISSION TERM
The deadline for submitting the short theatrical text ends on the day 31 of March of 2021. Any work submitted after this date will not be eligible for competition.
REGISTRATION AND DOCUMENTATION PROCEDURE TO BE SUBMITTED
Playwrights wishing to take part in this call must submit two documents (in PDF format) to the email address illes@illes.cat with copy to illescomunicacio@gmail.com with the following information:
1r document: – First and last name. – Scanned ID. – Postal address. – Conctact information: phone number and email address. – Title of the work. – Signed statement attesting to the authenticity of the text. – background.
2n document – Unsigned title and text.
SELECTION
The jury will be made up of performing arts professionals proposed by Edicions Aïllades. The jury's opinion, inapel·lable, will be made public on the day 31 May 2021 in a press release and will be published on the Literary Platform www.illes.cat. It will also be communicated to the selected people.
PUBLICATION OF SELECTED WORKS
The publication of the selected works of the I fARSA contest of micro-theater texts will take place during the month of October 2021. Edicions Aïllades reserves the right to represent the works, the dates, the choice of directors, of the cast and performance space, of staging and props.
INTERPRETATION AND ACCEPTANCE OF THE RULES
Any doubts that may arise in relation to the interpretation of the rules, it will be decided by the organization of the contest: EDICIONS AÏLLADES. Participation in the call implies full acceptance of the rules, as well as the jury's resolution and the changes that, as a result of factors outside the organization, may occur later.
