8ª EDITION OF THE TÍSNER COMPETITION FOR THE CREATION OF CATALAN GAMES

After the success of the previous edition, Plataforma per la Llengua is once again convening the Tísner Contest for the Creation of Games in Catalan. Last year, the contest received almost 120 Game proposals from the different Catalan-speaking territories. It is expected that this year the number of participants will equal or increase.

Tísner Competition for the Creation of Catalan Games

This is an initiative of the Platform for Language aimed at fifth and sixth grade students from all Catalan-speaking territories. The objective is to promote the most playful and creative facet of the Catalan language in schools through the creation of their own games by students and teachers.. It is therefore a contest that has a marked educational nature., in addition to promoting and encouraging the use of Catalan.

As of the sixth edition, the contest was open to participants from all Catalan-speaking territories. This initiative has made it possible to bring Catalan closer to students and make them see it as a valid language for leisure. Además, the feeling of being part of a linguistic community has been fostered, that of the Catalan speakers, which is made up of ten million people from different territories.

How to take part

Participating students must send the instructions for their games digitally. Likewise, they will have to attach a video of about four minutes explaining and demonstrating how the game works. After the pandemic, the digital format was used instead of the physical one with the aim of reducing travel and promoting the use and learning of digital tools..

The games presented must focus on an unprecedented proposal to work on a specific aspect of the Catalan language in a creative and collective way..

Registration will be open until December 2.. Till the date, the teaching staff will be able to register the participating groups through the form on the 'Games and toys in Catalan' website of Plataforma per la Llengua. Students will then be able to submit their proposals as detailed above.. They will have until 31 March to send the videos and instructions of the game.

The winners of the 8th edition of the Tísner Competition for the Creation of Catalan Games will be announced at an event that will take place on the weekend of 27 y 28 de marzo.
