FUNDACIÓ MALLORCA LITERÁRIA EXPANDS ITS DOCUMENTARY ARCHIVE

The Mallorca Literary Foundation, cultural institution responsible for the management and promotion of literature in Mallorca, expand your archive with works by important authors.

The transfer of new documents

This Wednesday, the agreements were signed by the Department of Culture of the Consell de Mallorca so that the Mallorca Literària Foundation will from now on manage the documentary and bibliographic legacies of the writers Cèlia Viñas, Tonina Canyelles, Josep Maria Llompart and Damià Huguet. This has been possible thanks to the transfer of the relatives of the authors, or Canyellas herself in her case, of the writers' legacies. So, The conservation and dissemination of the legacies will be in the hands of the Foundation..

These new legacies will be stored provisionally in the Casa Llorenç Villalonga in Binissalem, and will soon move to the Poeteca, in the Blai Bonet House in Santanyí.

The Mallorca Literary Foundation has informed that it will also incorporate documents from Blai Bonet, contributed by his family, which will join those already found in the Blai Bonet House.

The objective of Fundació Mallorca Literària

One of the objectives of the new Santanyí center is to become a poetry venue in Mallorca. Además, They also want to carry out tasks of dynamization and dissemination of poetry, as well as conserving heritage and promoting specialized research in Mallorcan poetry. Thus, The incorporation of these new documentary collections to the library and archive of Blai Bonet and Jaume Pomar already in operation is a first step towards that objective..

In addition to the incorporation of these documents, It is expected that the Foundation will sign new agreements in the future in relation to the legacies of other authors. Thus, will be able to continue with its preservation tasks, conservation and dissemination of the rich literary heritage of the Balearic Islands in its different forms. The future center is expected to open its doors at the end of this year or at the beginning of next year..
