The Menorquín theater travels to Barcelona

Lucretia, play the Minorcan Joan Ramis, travels to Barcelona. The premiere is on Wednesday 18 February and will be in the lineup for a month in the room The Mint-Space Rubbish. It is directed by Sergi Marí and interpreted by Queralt Albinyana, Enka Alonso, Rodo Gener, Xavier Núñez, Josep Mercadal Àlvar Triay.

Considered a masterpiece of Catalan literature of the eighteenth century, Lucretia narra cómo Tarquino, King of Rome, and general Colatino talk about their wives and their behavior while they are in war. While Colatino says his wife, Lucretia, he is completely faithful, Tarquin wants to show otherwise. When you check that you can not seduce her, decides to rape her. And she commits suicide to safeguard their honor. These events provoke a popular uprising that ends the monarchy and allows the entry of the Republic in Rome.

Joan Ramis, author of the work, It was an intellectual destacadísimo of Menorca in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. He excelled as attorney, historian and writer. As it regards this facet, both he wrote plays and poetry books.
