Thanks to gastronomy, architecture, culture and landscapes, Majorca is an island worth knowing. A good way to do it, for both tourists and locals, are the cultural activities that the Fundació Mallorca Literària organizes with the objective of promoting and making visible the culture of the island. On this occasion we will talk about one of its initiatives to get to know it: the literary routes.
Walking on Words: Literary routes to meet Mallorca
One of the most interesting initiatives of the Foundation is Walking On Words, A project dedicated to organizing and offering literary routes on the island to know not only its landscapes and its architecture, but also the literary places of Mallorca. At present, Walking on Words has seven literary routes different from choosing, of which we have chosen three for this article.
Palma, Literary city

Palma de Mallorca
The first route is through the capital of Mallorca and covers the tour between two cultural centers, Mercy and Can Alcover, going through the streets, squares and gardens that configure the history of the city. This walk goes from writers like Josep Pla, Jorge Luis Borges, Albert Camus and Joan Alcover, and is completed with literary locations in some peripheral neighborhoods.
From Deià to Valdemassa

This route is the shortest, But also the most loaded with literary voices, Well, the area of the tour has attracted numerous writers over the years. The route, by the Sierra de Tramuntana, World Heritage for UNESCO, connects sea and mountain. In it you will find the voices of Rubén Darío, Robert Graves and Ramon Llull, entre otras.
