STORIES COMPETITION FOR SENIOR PEOPLE

The contest of stories written by the elderly organized by the Foundation "La Caixa" This year celebrates its fifteenth edition. It is an initiative organized in collaboration with National Radio of Spain which aims to promote reading habit, creativity and the use of imagination among the older than 60 years.

Registrations are open until 23 de julio de 2023. Through this initiative, It is intended to promote the habit of reading, The use of imagination and the development of creativity in the elderly, as well as make visible and share their skills with society, knowledge and values. The stories written by older people are the reflection of their lives and knowledge accumulated in years of experiences, And also how they observe our history and our time.

You can participate in three different categories:

Stories, up to four pages

Micro -reports, up to 100 words

podcast, up to 10 minutos

There can be a maximum of two pieces per participant and category.

To participate in the new podcast category:

You must deliver a sound file of a maximum of 10 minutos, of free theme and any kind, As an interview, informative, ficción the documentary narrative.

The diversity of sound resources used and the variety of testimonies of the protagonists or characters will be valued.

The jury is made up of renowned writers, As Soledad Puértolas and Fernando Schwartz; Ana Vega Toscano, RNE culture specialist; Miquel Molina, Deputy Director of The avant -garde; The winners of the edition 2022 of the contest, and Jesús Arroyo, Corporate Director of Public Affairs of the Foundation "La Caixa".

The contest award consists in the issuance of the Pódcast and the radio adaptation of the winning story and micro -relative in the National Radio of Spain and the publication of the text in The avant -garde and on the websites of the "La Caixa" and RNE Foundation, as well as being part of the jury of the following edition. In recognition of participants, Finalist stories are edited in a biennial publication book.
