Books by WOMEN
The Mallorca Literary Foundation invites readers to the pleasure of reading and commenting on some titles that are part of the best universal literature, classic and contemporary, through its Cycle of conversations between Books by WOMEN. Gathering and dialogue sessions with the only requirement of having read the book first.
This year 2018 the cycle of conversations between Books by WOMEN will be dedicated to the “Writers with their own room”, title referring to an essay by Virginia Woolf. This series aims to listen to and understand the voice of the writers who were able to create despite the limits and conventions imposed on the figure of women..
The only common denominator of the selected works is that they were written by a woman since the literary points of view are very diverse..

Virginia Woolf. British writer, outstanding figure of 20th century Anglo-Saxon modernism and international feminism.
The proposal tries to review the literature created by classic and contemporary authors. Opening a range of varied origins, eras, ideologies and discourses.
Maria Mercè Marçal, maria aurelia capmany, Montserrat Abelló, Zadie Smith. And classics of the best universal literature such as the works of Austen,Dickinson, Plath, Pizarnik and Rodoreda.
