INTERVIEW WITH GARA PLANELLS (2ª parte)

After the first part of the interview with Gara Planells, in which we treat 40 anniversary of the Sant Antoni Library, this article will be dedicated to other issues related to your activity.

P: Do you have other events planned for the coming months??

R: In October the reading club will return, which started in January 2014. We already know the book that the members should read and it only remains to let them know so that they can come and get it from the library.

Place where the book club is held

P: The library has a Catalan self-study point. Can you tell us a little more about this program??

R: It was launched last year and is run by Paula Ramon, who has a degree in Catalan and is a teacher. Anyone can come and we have levels from A1 to C2 and the teacher comes on Mondays to give classes to each group to answer questions and practice conversation.

P: Now we will ask data about the library. How many volumes do you have stored?

R: Right now we drive around 36.500 documents.

P: And how many people have the membership card?

R: we have distributed 9.500 notebooks in 40 years.

P: Edicions Aïllades has started the PoemIllas project, that brings our poets to the public through musical versions of their creations. Would you be willing to host a session?

R: We are delighted to launch any activity to enrich the culture and that people enjoy. We have already started talking about the subject and it is only a matter of setting a date that suits us all.

P: By last, Can you give us a congratulatory message for the tenth anniversary of our editorial?

R: Congratulations and I hope that everything that is to enjoy the culture, literature and music and art move on.
