The renowned writer Maria Antònia Oliver, author of the book on which the work is based, who passed away at the beginning of the year.

Joana E. is a play based on the book of the same name published by the renowned writer from Manacor Maria Antònia Oliver. It is one of the best-known and most valued works of narrative by the Manacorina author, published in 1992 and awarded the Prudenci Bertrana Prize.

The protagonist of the work, who is also its narrator, is the character of Joana E. Joana is part of a Mallorcan bourgeois family, and his life passes without major worries or tribulations until the unfortunate death of his parents in a traffic accident.. It is from then on that she must face many problems that will accompany her for the rest of her life.: his parents' inheritance, which is called into question when she discovers that she was actually adopted; a marriage in which he does not find happiness; a constant state of depression and hopelessness with life; a secret love and its end; and the birth of his son.

The work focuses on the bourgeois society of the 1930s and the post-war period., a society of appearances that hides and camouflages the most reprehensible human passions: selfishness, Hypocrisy, interest in money and greed.

The play is a montage and production by the theater company La Salvatge Produccions and was also awarded the Bòtil Prize for Children's and Youth Theater. The work has dramaturgy by Toni-Lluís Reyes, and with the performances of the performers Francesca Vadell, Catalina and the Kings themselves.
