CYCLE OF READINGS IN THE POETIC MACE

The Museum of Contemporary Art of Eivissa (MACE) organizes the sixth cycle of poetic readings which takes place this year during the month of September, the days 27, 28 y 29 in the hall of the museum, It located in the walled city of Ibiza (Dalt Vila).

Coordinated and presented by Enrique Juncosa, in this edition of 2017 involved: Chantal Maillard, Ben Clark y Álvaro Valverde.

Chantal Maillard

Spanish poet and philosopher born in Belgium (Brussels) en 1951. National Poetry Award for Kill Plato and Critics' Award for Threads followed by Which. Doctor of Philosophy specialized in Philosophies and Religions of India at Banaras Hindu University (Benares). Professor of Aesthetics and Theory of Arts at the University of Malaga until the year 2000.

Ben Clark

Born in Ibiza in 1984, This poet and translator has received various literary awards, among which the Hiperión Prize stands out. 2006 ex aequo with David Leo García for The children of the children of wrath (Delirium, 2017); The VII National Poetry Award Felix Grande; the IV RNE Young Poetry Prize for a book written with the poet from Salamanca André Catalán and the Ciutat de Palma Joan Alcover Prize 2013. Other of his notable works: Garbage (Delirium, 2011) or the translation December tenth, by George Saunder (Alfabia2013).

His work appears in various accounts and anthologies of recent poetry..

Alvaro Valverde

Plasencia (Cáceres, 1959). Columnist and writer who was president of the Extremadura Writers Association. Director of the Literature Classroom of José Antonio Gabriel y Galán, with the novelist Gonzalo Hidalgo Bayal. Co-founder with Ángel Campos Pámpano of the Spanish-Portuguese magazine Espacio / Written space. Coordinator (2002-2005) of the Reading Promotion Plan in Extremadura and director (2005-2008) from the Regional Editor of Extremadura. He works as a Language and Literature teacher at a public school. “Alfonso VIII” from Plasencia.
