THE WORLD DAY OF POETRY
UNESCO established World Poetry Day on 21 March as a way to promote reading, writing and teaching the lyrical genre. Thus, each year the organization sets out to build bridges between different cultures and human societies, since all without exception cultivate this type of literature.
This universality of poetry is explained by the oral dissemination of culture that took place before the invention of writing.. This explains that popular stories and songs were transmitted from parents to children through the form of verse, that allowed a better memorization of them thanks to the rhythm and rhyme.
Later, These folk forms of expression were transformed according to the evolutions of which they were witnesses. Hence, religious rites had the recited of hymns and that much of the European countries have chosen poems to define their own identities. This happened in the cases of the Singing of mine Cid In Spain or Singer of the nibelungos In Germany. later, The progressive individualization of society made lyric into a means for the expression of their own feelings.
