LITERATURE IN THE RAIXA GARDENS

On the occasion of the celebration of 26 April of the III European Day of Historic Gardens, The Department of Sustainability and the Environment has organized the program of activities “Gardens that inspire: literature and historical gardens ”.

The historic gardens

The literary gardens are an initiative of the European Route of Historic Gardens. So, All the gardens in Europe can join this celebration to highlight the importance of gardens as inspiration for literary works.. The objective of the initiative is to disseminate and promote historic gardens from a heritage perspective, cultural, educational and tourist. It is also intended to raise awareness among the population of the need to preserve and care for them..

This year is the first time that activities on historical gardens and literature are organized in the Raixa gardens. The program of activities will celebrate the importance of these gardens of great historical value, artistic and social. This will also allow us to approach nature and history from another interpretation., to literature.

The Raixa gardens

The Raixa gardens are located on the estate of the same name in the town of Bunyola. They surround the house and extend to the slope of Sa Muntanyeta. The orchard, the garden of tarongers, the gallery garden, the central fountain and the entrance garden, with a small pond, They are located at the bottom. The upper part is around a staircase dedicated to the god Apollo and his four muses., related to poetry. There is also a large pond.

Activities in the Raixa gardens

Guided tours of the gardens will be offered on days 26 de abril (Tuesday) y 30 de abril (Saturday). On the same Saturday there will be a poetic route with the recital of “Som dones d’heura”, and Sunday 1 In May there will be a traveling story to discover the gardens.
