Mario Riera writer of the month
MARIO RIERA
Ibizan poet Mario Riera, that this year is 55 years, It is the writer of the month of March of this 2025 in the municipal library Can Ventosa, in Ibiza. He is about to present the third edition of his last published poems, ‘BIRTHDAY TRIP’ (EDICIONS AÏLLADES).
Last year he won both Pitiusa letters prizes summoned until last year by the Vilàs and Melqart Media Foundation, Both the narrative and poetry in Catalan. The winning works were Typch of sea and earth and Variations of the Year in stamps.
MARIO RIERA
Born in Ibiza in 1970. Licenciado en Psicología, materia a la que se dedica profesionalmente. Publica su primer libro de poemas “Mar de silencis” en 2004 en la editorial Can Cifre. Posteriormente publica el segundo poemario “Minim equipatge” en 2008, año en que también se publica la obra teatral “Terra Ferida” también en la editorial Can Cifre.
en 2010 publica “En brazos de la ausencia” en la editorial madrileña Vitruvio, quedando finalista del Premio de poesía de Torrevieja. Repite experiéncia en la misma editorial en 2012 con “Antelúz” libro que fue escogido como recomendado por la Asociación española de editores de poesía.
En abril de 2013 MARIO RIERA publica en Edicions aïllades “Viatge d’aniversari” (número 4 de la colección Ones de poesia) en versión digital en www.illes.cat También es autor, entre otros, de la letra del Himno de Santa Cecilia, interpretada por el Cor Ciutat d’Eivissa y de la letra del Himno del Atlético Isleño, club del que fue jugador. Uno de los poemas de “Viatge d’aniversari”, “El sol rebut”, se incluye en el CD de Mon de poemas musicados “Un tast d’ones”. Ha colaborado con los medios escritos locales, con diversos artículos tanto en el Diario de Ibiza como en Ultima Hora de Ibiza y Formentera.
