VII DAY OF WOMEN WRITERS IN CAN SALAS
next monday 17 October, The Can Salas Public Library celebrates Women Writers' Day. This year, The chosen motto is 'Abans, during and after the wars'.

The idea of celebrating a day dedicated especially to the writers arose in 2016 by the National Library of Spain, the Spanish Federation of Women Directors, Executives, Professionals and Businesswomen (FEDEPE) and the Classical and Modern Association. The objective of this annual commemoration was to make a claim of the paper and the impact of the writers throughout history by reading the fragments of their works.
The day chosen for this annual commemoration is the closest Monday to the feast of Santa Teresa de Jesús, Patron of the writers and outstanding writer of Spanish Literature of the Golden Age.
'Before, during and after the wars'
The act that will take place in the Public Library of Can Salas next Monday 17 a las 18:30 is in charge of the writer Carmen Domingo. This reading will discuss the issue of war from the perspective of women from fragments that reflect the experiences and visions of its authors. So, Reading will focus on works that treat war conflicts that occurred in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, as well as their repercussions on society and people.

Some of the writers selected this year are, entre otras, Elena fortune, Almudena Grandes, In the Campobello, María Elena Walsh, Montserrat Red or Alaid Foppa.
