Last Saturday 6 November the comic short film Talis was presented, the latest sample of Ibizan film production. The director and screenwriter, Ramon Mayol,, and the rest of the team were present at the projection carried out at the Ibiza Botánico Biotecnológico de Sant Rafel before an audience that ended up applauding the film.

Mayol intervened before the start of the screening to thank the Can Lluc agrotourism hotel and Ibiza Botánico Biotecnológico itself for providing the recording locations that appear in the film.. During his presentation, the director confirmed that there are two versions of the short: one of more than 7 minutes long and another that will be reduced by half. The event included the screening of the two, although the filmmaker commented that the shortest piece will be the one presented at festivals and competitions for length reasons..

The cast of actors, among which Miguel Vingut's gift for humor stands out, represents a story in which the cultivated Talis has to deal with characters of a much lower intellectual level. The film's script takes advantage of this contrast to humorously present the protagonist in the style of a rose among thistles who ends up falling into the behaviors of her social circle.. Another notable aspect of the production has been the use of montage, that resorts to the use of zoom, the slowing down of images or music and sound effects to underline the comical aspect of the short.

Thus, The film manages to convey its critical vision of the inequalities in Ibizan society as well as the need to blend in with the environment as the only way to survive.. All this without forgetting the fundamental aspect: that it is a short that gives the audience a good time.
