'SHARE LETTER' UNITES LITERATURE IN CATALAN
Although literary creation in the Catalan language arises in different geographical locations (country Valencià, Balearic Islands and Catalonia, Can Ventosa Library), so far it has been relatively disconnected territorially. In order to bring these literatures closer in Catalan, the joint initiative 'Lettres Compartides' has recently been created.
What is 'Shared letters'?
'Lletres compartides' is a program whose objective is to consolidate a common literary space between the different Catalan-speaking territories. This project arises from the need to bring authors from all territories closer together and put them in relationship with the creative sector and literary promotion of other territories.. So, The aim is to publicize authors in the Catalan language in the different territories..
The four entities that promote the initiative are the Institució de les Lletres Catalanes, the Valencian Academy of Language, The Mallorca Literary Foundation and the Island Council of Menorca. The intention is that in the future other linguistic organizations belonging to all territories will join., to continue disseminating literature in Catalan beyond administrative borders.

The authors of 'Lletres compartides'
Ten authors from each territory have been chosen in the program (thirty in total) of the different literary genres: Poetry, Narrativa, children and youth, etc. Information can be found on the website, in the information dossiers of each author created for this purpose.
A part of this group of writers will participate in activities scheduled in libraries, schools, etc., and will travel around the territory to make himself known and interact with other authors and institutions.
Putting into action the 'Lletres compartides' program
This is a medium-term project that is intended to continue and that aims to integrate in the future the rest of the Catalan-speaking areas that are not yet included.. According to the entities, Each territory has contributed an economic endowment of about 40000 euros to launch the first edition of this initiative to promote and encourage literature in Catalan.
The 'Lletres compartides' program consists of four different blocks, all focused on meeting the set objective: the exchange of authors between different territories and the creation of a reading community that transcends administrative territories and is united by the use of the same language: the Catalan.
The four blocks
The four blocks are the information sessions, Author visits, the reading club and the communication campaign.
On the one hand, The information sessions will be virtual and will be addressed to library staff, teachers and other professionals in the literary field. In them, different unknown authors outside their own territories will be made known.. The sessions will be recorded and can be consulted later.
On the other hand, Author visits to other territories will also be scheduled and different literary activities will be organized.. These visits will be carried out staggered during October and December in Catalonia, València, Mallorca and Menorca. The realization of this part of the program has the collaboration of the Associació d'Writers en Llengua Catalana.

Scheduling of author visits to the different territories.
The third block is the organization of a virtual reading club aimed at university students, in which there will be four sessions, in which authors from each of the four participating territories will be discussed.
By last, We are working on a communication campaign to explain the need for the initiative and the knowledge of the selected authors. This part of the program will have diverse materials such as author dossiers, Web page, different audiovisual content, etc.
