This Thursday, 7 October at 20:15 hours takes place in the Municipal Library of Can Ventosa, in Ibiza, the presentation of the bookDe-tune. An illogical reality’ published by Ibiza Editions and included in their collection Barbaria de Essay.
The book is signed by Johnny Burt, which corresponds to the pseudonym of an author who has experienced first-hand the consequences of schizophrenia and tells us about his day-to-day experience with this mental illness.
The presentation will be given by Dr. Gustavo Lucas Cabornero, psychiatrist and Ramon Mayol, editor of the work.
El 10 October marks World Mental Health Day at a time when our daily lives have been significantly altered as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.. The last few months have brought many challenges: for health personnel, who provides services in difficult circumstances, and go to work with the fear of bringing COVID-19 home; for students, who have had to adapt to distance classes, with little contact with teachers and classmates, and full of anxiety about their future; for workers, whose livelihoods are threatened; for the huge number of people trapped in poverty or in fragile humanitarian settings with very little protection against COVID-19; and for people with mental health conditions, many of whom are even more socially isolated than before. Not to mention managing the pain of losing a loved one., sometimes without having been able to say goodbye.
Meanwhile, Schizophrenia is a mental disorder in which people interpret reality in an abnormal way.. Schizophrenia can cause a combination of hallucinations, delusions and severe disorders in thinking and behavior, which affects daily functioning and can be disabling.
